BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for fatally shooting a bystander outside a tavern.

Victor Irizarry entered the plea Friday on the second day of his murder trial in state Supreme Court.

The 44-year-old was on trial for the death of 28-year-old Nicholas Jozens of the suburb of Williamsville in September. Investigators say Irizarry went home to get a gun after getting into an argument at a bar and fired into a group of people when he returned, striking Jozens in the abdomen.

Jozens wasn’t believed to be the intended target.

Irizarry faces up to 25 years in prison when he’s sentenced Aug. 31.
