CUT OFF, La. (AP) - Police say a man died after he walked into the path of a Louisiana State Police vehicle driving along La. Highway 1 in Lafourche Parish.
WWL-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2aoLVZL ) that Raymond Taylor, 33, was struck and killed Friday night.
The television station reports that a preliminary investigation shows Taylor was walking southbound when a state police vehicle approached from the north.
Police say Taylor entered the path of the patrol vehicle for unknown reasons and, despite the officers attempt to swerve away, was struck.
Taylor was taken to Lady of the Sea General Hospital in Cut Off, where he died.
Police suspect impairment on Taylor’s part. Toxicology tests are pending.
