YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A former Yakima County deputy prosecutor is facing attempted rape and other charges in connection with an incident involving an employee at his office.

The Yakima Herald reports (https://goo.gl/qI06gE ) charges of attempted second-degree rape, unlawful imprisonment with sexual motivation and indecent liberties with forcible compulsion were filed against 37-year-old George Hansen Friday.

Police say one of Hansen’s employees said she was assaulted during a meeting with Hansen to discuss her working remotely. She told police he locked the office door and began kissing her and said he was going to rape her. She told police she was able to unlock the door and leave.

It was unclear whether Hansen has an attorney. He was booked and released from Yakima County jail without bail but under pretrial supervision.
