NEW YORK (AP) - The New York Police Department is looking for suspects in two separate attempted rapes.

Authorities say a woman was in the restroom of a church gymnasium on Staten Island shortly after midnight on July 24 when a man approached her. Police say he grabbed the 21-year-old woman by the throat and pushed her down while unbuckling his pants, but she was able to escape. The suspect is described as a 42-year-old man, about 4 feet 9 inches tall.

Police are also looking for a man who approached a 20-year-old woman on Fifth Avenue near Eighth Street around 4 a.m. Saturday. Authorities say he grabbed her from behind and forcibly touched her before she was able to fight him off. The man then fled.

Police are investigating.
