DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut judge is set to hold a hearing on whether a man who believes no one died in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre can file a brief in a lawsuit brought by victims’ families.
The hearing is scheduled for Monday in Danbury Superior Court.
William Shanley, of New Haven, is among a small group of people who say there’s evidence the shooting that killed 20 first-graders and six educators was a “mass casualty drill.” Shanley says in a court document there’s evidence that victims’ relatives were actors in a drill.
The parents of two children killed in the December 2012 shooting have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Newtown and its school system alleging lax security. The parents are seeking at least $5.5 million apiece.
