PHOENIX (AP) - Police say a man was shot and killed while shopping at a Phoenix convenience store.

Authorities say 50-year-old Ernie Solano had just made a purchase around 10 p.m. Saturday and left when gunshots were heard.

According to investigators, the victim then fell back into the store in the area of 42nd Avenue and Camelback Road.

Firefighters arrived and transported Solano to a hospital.

He was pronounced dead.

Police have not identified a suspect or a possible motive. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Based on evidence at the scene, they do not believe the incident is connected to a suspect connected to several shootings in the Maryvale neighborhood.
