HILL CITY, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota State Railroad Museum in Hill City is going to put on display a historic caboose that has operated in South Dakota.

KOTA-TV (https://bit.ly/2aBjF6E) reports that the museum purchased the caboose from a Huron family who has had it in their yard since 1972.

Museum Curator Rick Mills says the museum is going to have an open house for the family and others in October. The exhibit will open publicly in May.

Before it opens, the caboose is going to get new paint and wheel sets.
