FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (AP) - Two people have been hospitalized after they were rescued from a car fire in Fort Washington.

WJLA-TV reports (https://bit.ly/29kbKIN ) the car fire broke out on Route 210 at Old Fort Road just after 2:30 a.m. Monday.

The Prince George’s Fire Department responded to a report of people trapped inside a burning car. When they arrived they found two people suffering from serious injuries but no burns. They were taken to a local hospital.

A firetruck that responded to the scene was struck by a car while blocking traffic. No one was injured in the crash, but the truck sustained roughly $10,000 worth of damage. Charges are pending against the driver of the car.
