ROOSEVELT, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say divers have recovered the body of a man who drowned in Arizona’s Apache Lake.

A Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office dive team began searching for the 37-year-old after he reportedly entered the lake east of Apache Junction around 2 a.m. Sunday and never resurfaced.

Nearby campers also tried to search for him.

The body of the victim - identified by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office as Rodolfo Ruiz - was recovered Monday morning after authorities resumed their search for him.

Deputy Joaquin Enriquez says Ruiz was found in a 26-foot-deep area of the lake where witnesses last saw him.

Authoritie say there were no signs of trauma or significant injury on Ruiz’s body, and no signs of foul play.
