DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) - A forum on arts activism related to water as a basic need and human right is planned at the Arab American National Museum in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn.

The theme of this year’s Forum on Community, Culture & Race is “Artists Speak: Water is Life.” It’s scheduled for July 14 and is affiliated with the Concert of Colors in Detroit’s Midtown area.

Organizers say the forum aims to highlight efforts by community activists using art to convey how water has affected communities locally, nationally and internationally.

The forum will feature a panel of artists and activists as well as performances and presentations.

Admission is free but reservations are required.
