MILLERSVILLE, Md. (AP) - Authorities say one man has died after a two-alarm fire in a rowhome in Millersville.

Anne Arundel County firefighters responded to a call reporting a fire in the 5200 block of Brookwood Road near Christian Road just after 4:30 a.m. Monday.

Authorities say firefighters searched the home and located a man, who was in cardiac arrest, on the second floor and took him outside. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him, but he was declared dead on the scene. He was the only person inside the building at the time of the blaze.

One firefighter fell through the second floor of the building and sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
