WASHINGTON (AP) - A 50-year-old man was killed in a car wreck in Northwest Washington.

The Washington Post reports (https://wapo.st/29c7E3q ) that the wreck occurred at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday when a man driving a Mercedes-Benz struck a pickup truck from behind on Georgia Avenue.

Police say Vincent King was driving southbound on the 2500 block of Georgia Avenue when he slammed into a Ford pickup truck, which then crossed the double yellow line, struck a tree and light pole and overturned. King’s Mercedes struck a chain-link fence and fire hydrant and overturned as well.

Police say King was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the pickup truck was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
