TABERNACLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a man fatally shot his former employer during a robbery at the victim’s home.

Burlington County prosecutors say 42-year-old David Stead, of Pemberton Township, faces numerous counts, including felony murder and weapons offenses. It wasn’t known Monday if he’s retained an attorney.

The charges stem from the death of Thomas Wright II, who was found dead Friday afternoon in his Tabernacle Township home. Wright’s family became concerned and went to the residence after he failed to show up at a job site.

Prosecutors say Stead went to Wright’s home early Friday with the intent of robbing him. He then shot him multiple times in the head and neck before stealing a small amount of cash and driving off in a rented pickup truck Wright had been using.
