SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls police say more officers are hitting the streets on foot to help patrol key areas.

The Argus Leader reports ( https://argusne.ws/29oMHWu ) the increased patrols come amid growing concern about violent crime in the city.

Chief Matt Burns says more officers are patrolling the downtown and surrounding areas.

Burns says the increase is not due to any particular incident. He says it’s more of a way to help create relationships between officers and citizens.
