CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a car with two gunshot victims inside crashed into a building near the emergency room of a Charlotte hospital.

Police said in a news release that doctors pronounced 19-year-old Markas Vereen dead shortly after the wreck around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

Investigates say a second person in the car was also wounded. That person’s condition has not been released.

No one at the hospital was injured.

Police say officers were called to a shooting in a neighborhood about 2 miles away shortly before the crash where they think the victims were wounded.

Investigators say no arrests have been made and a motive for the shooting has not been released.
