BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - One person has died and three others have sustained serious injuries after police say an SUV left Interstate 10 and flipped several times.

Media outlets report that Biloxi police began receiving calls shortly before 7 p.m. Monday regarding a flipped vehicle on the side of Interstate 10 near the Woolmarket exit.

Police say a Chevrolet Tahoe left the road and overturned several times, ejecting three of the six passengers.

The injured passengers were taken to Merit Health Hospital in Biloxi, and one passenger was taken to Garden Park Hospital in Gulfport. The passenger taken to Garden Park Hospital later died from injuries received in the crash.

The identity of the deceased passenger hasn’t been released.

Police say neither driver impairment nor speed were factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
