HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A new commander will assume duties at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Detroit.

A ceremony is scheduled Wednesday morning at the facility at Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Macomb County’s Harrison Township.

The Coast Guard says all members of the unit will attend the ceremony.

Cmdr. Louie Parks follows Cmdr. Michael MacMillan at the air station. Rear Adm. June Ryan, commander of the Ninth Coast Guard District, will preside over the ceremony.

The Coast Guard says change of command “signifies a total transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability for command of a unit.”
