TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Oro Valley that left a 65-year-old pedestrian critically injured.

The Arizona Daily Star reports (https://bit.ly/29eXVhj ) that John Pedicone was arrested Monday on suspicion of aggravated assault and failing to stop at an accident involving serious injury or death.

Police say officers had responded to a report of a crash earlier in the morning to find that a man had been struck by a vehicle while walking across the street.

The victim was taken to a hospital and remains in critical condition.

Police say they found the damaged vehicle involved in the crash hours later at a home. They determined Pedicone was the owner of the car and the driver at the time of the incident.
