PHOENIX (AP) - A former Arizona juvenile corrections officer arrested and accused last year of alleged sexual misconduct with a boy in custody has been sentenced to 10 years of probation under a plea agreement.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Patrice Dawson was sentenced Tuesday after she pleaded guilty to a reduced count of child abuse with sexual motivation.

Two other charges were dismissed as part of her plea agreement.

The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections fired Dawson after investigating reports it received in October 2015.

Dawson was an officer at the Adobe Mountain School juvenile detention facility in north Phoenix.

According to her arrest record, Dawson had sexual contact with a boy in custody who was over the age of 15 at the time.
