JAY, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a 30-year-old man has died after his Jeep Wrangler crashed in an Adirondack river.

Troopers found Tristan McLean of Jay around 7 a.m. Tuesday in his 2005 Wrangler, which was lying on its side in the East Branch of the Ausable River along Route 9N between Jay and AuSable Forks.

Police say McLean was driving southwest on Route 9N in Essex County when he crossed over the opposite lane and went off the road on a curve. The Jeep went over a guiderail and plunged down 200 feet of riverbank.

State police are investigating what led to the crash.
