PLATTE, S.D. (AP) - State wildlife and parks officials say a man died over the weekend after two personal watercraft collided at the Snake Creek Recreation Area near Platte.

Brandon Gust is the boating law administrator with the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department. He tells The Daily Republic (https://bit.ly/29gdDUH ) the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday when a Jet Ski crossed the path of another one.

Gust says the fatal victim was in his early 30s. He says the identities of the people involved in the crash are not being released because of the ongoing investigation, which is being handled by the Game, Fish and Parks Department.

The newspaper reports it wasn’t immediately clear if the man died at the scene or as he was being taken to a hospital.
