CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in uptown Charlotte.

Police spokesman Keith Trietley said in a statement that officers were called to an assault report shortly after 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical workers.

The man’s name has not been released while relatives are located.

No arrests have been reported.
