With nearly four months having passed since the last winner, Mega Millions officials drew numbers Tuesday for a $454 million jackpot that would be the seventh-biggest in U.S. history.

The winning numbers were 29-46-53-64-73, with the yellow Megaball being 10.

Going into Tuesday, Mega Millions had 33 drawings without a winner, shredding the previous record of 22 contests in late 2013.

The chances of picking the correct six numbers is one in 259 million but the growing jackpot is encouraging more people to play the game, increasing the chances someone will pick the winning combination, lottery officials said.

“It takes much bigger jackpots to get players excited,” Paula Otto, lead director for Mega Millions, told the Associated Press. “It looks like the tipping point might be right about now.”

If taken in a single massive payment, as most recent big lottery winners have chosen to do, the $454 million prize would be worth $319 million. Federal taxes would quickly take almost 40 percent of that amount, with state taxes a possibility on top of that.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
