GYPSUM, Colo. (AP) - Colorado has a new air taxi service targeted at traveling professionals like architects and contractors.

Alpine Flight, based at the Eagle County Regional Airport in Gypsum, began transporting passengers last week in a six passenger, twin-engine Piper Seneca.

President Loren French told the Vail Daily (https://bit.ly/29lrugA) that there many options for people looking to charter a jet or larger turbo-prop airplanes in Colorado but smaller, less expensive planes haven’t commonly been available for hire. There’s at least one other air taxi service in the state, operating out of Telluride, and French said the service has become more popular on the East Coast.

“For a professional, this is a game-changer. It’s the ability to depart in the morning, conduct your business and return the same day,” he said.

The new service is available between nearly any two airports in Colorado and surrounding states, with prices determined based on the trip, not the number of passengers.
