PARCHMAN, Miss. (AP) - Part of the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman was put on lockdown after officials say two inmates were assaulted.

Media outlets report that according to Mississippi Department of Corrections officials, two inmates were stabbed early Monday morning. One of the stabbed inmates was taken to a hospital. The other inmate’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

Unit 30D of the prison was placed on lockdown during the investigation. It’s unclear how long the lockdown lasted or whether it’s been lifted.

No names have been released.
