SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - One of the nation’s largest private physical therapy companies has opened two offices in Springfield to serve an increasing need for medical services for baby boomers.

The State Journal-Register (https://bit.ly/29ez8EU ) reports that ATI Physical Therapy offices opened last week. ATI operates 140 to 150 clinics in Illinois.

ATI regional vice president Wes Williams says most of the clinics are in the Chicago area and the southern part of the state. Williams says the physical therapists and athletic trainers working in ATI clinics often serve members of the baby-boom generation recovering from knee and hip replacement surgery, as well as young athletes dealing with sports-related injuries.

Members of the baby-boom generation were born between 1946 and 1964. They are turning 52 through 70 this year.
