BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - Police in northern Louisiana say a mall was briefly shut down following a gas leak, but has since reopened.

Bossier City police said in a news release Tuesday that a delivery driver was backing into a loading dock at the Pierre Bossier Mall when the driver accidentally struck the side of the building about 8:30 a.m.

That damaged a structure that protects the main gas line going into the mall. Police said the gas line also was damaged and began to leak.

Emergency crews evacuated the mall as a precaution.

Police said Center Point Energy shut off the gas to the mall and will continue with the repairs to fix the problem caused by the accident. The company also will notify tenants when the mall will regain its gas utilities.
