ALTUS, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the body of an 18-year-old Texas man who drowned in Lake Altus has been recovered.

Troopers say the body of Jessie Ramirez of Vernon, Texas, was recovered shortly after 8 p.m. on the Fourth of July. His body was pulled from 20 feet of water in the lake in Greer County in far southwestern Oklahoma.

The patrol says Ramirez had been swimming with three other men around noon when he submerged at the lake’s Horsehead Cove area and never resurfaced.

Troopers say his body will be transported to the Office of the State Medical Examiner in Oklahoma City for examination.
