NOME, Alaska (AP) - The search has been suspended for a Nome man missing for more than a week.

Alaska State Troopers say they’ve ended the search for 36-year-old Joseph Balderas pending any new leads.

The search for Balderas began after he failed to show up for work June 27 at his job as a law clerk in the Nome court.

Balderas’ vehicle was found along the Nome-Council Highway, and Alaska State Troopers say he may have been mountain running or hiking off the road.

In a web posting Tuesday, troopers say the intensive seven-day search involving multiple agencies turned up no evidence to Balderas’ current location.
