BIG SKY, Mont. (AP) - Gallatin County authorities have located a 62-year-old California woman who spent the night outdoors after failing to return from a hike at the Yellowstone Club in southwestern Montana.

The woman left to hike the Cedar Loop Trail at about noon on Monday and was reported overdue at 6:30 p.m. Search dogs and helicopters joined the search.

Sheriff Brian Gootkin says the woman was located at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. She was in good health and was taken to the hospital for a checkup.

Temperatures dipped into the low 40s overnight.

The woman’s name and hometown weren’t released.

The Yellowstone Club is a private residential, ski and golf community in the Rocky Mountains west of Big Sky.
