MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld the murder conviction of a man who fatally shot his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.

AL.com (https://bit.ly/29nKz0l) reports that 29-year-old Enrico Morris Cornley, of Montgomery, was convicted in August 2015 of killing Roy Buskey.

Prosecutors say Cornley drove his girlfriend to Buskey’s home on Nov. 26, 2013 to retrieve her cellphone. The men got into a dispute and Buskey was shot in the chest.

Cornley was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole following his conviction.

The appeals court denied his appeal in a decision on Friday.
