SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Officials say a construction worker has died after being electrocuted while working at a site on the campus of Shepherd University.

Shepherd University officials said in a news release that the man was killed on campus on Tuesday afternoon.

Harkins Builders, Inc. spokesman John Dawson tells The Journal of Martinsburg (https://bit.ly/29xTyhE) that the man was not an employee of Harkins Builders, but was working through a subcontractor. Authorities have not released the man’s name.

The construction company has been on Shepherd’s campus working on a new student residence hall.

Dawson says the Occupational Safety and Health Administration would be conducting an investigation into the incident.
