SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A fire official says the driver of an SUV died when his car crashed against a San Francisco home, sparking a fire.

San Francisco Fire Department spokesman Jonathan Baxter says fire crews have controlled the blaze.

Baxter says the car caught fire after it crashed into the house Wednesday afternoon.

He says the fire caused extensive damage to the two-story house in the Sea Cliff neighborhood.

Baxter says no one was home when the crash occurred.

The driver of the car was not immediately identified.
