TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Weather forecasters have issued an excessive heat warning for parts of New Jersey.

The National Weather Service said that the highs will be in the lower and middle 90s on Wednesday and warned of heat index values around 100 during the afternoon.

The heat warning was in effect for Camden, Gloucester, Mercer and parts of Burlington counties.

Forecasters warned that the hot and humid conditions could lead to heat related health issues, especially for the elderly and people in poor health.

They say people should take extra precautions if they work or spend time outside.
