MECHANIC FALLS, Maine (AP) - The family of a 17-year-old Maine girl who was killed in a Halloween-themed hayride accident is suing the owner of the farm where the crash occurred.

The lawsuit against Harvest Hill Farms owner Peter Buldoc follows the October 2014 death of Cassidy Charette, of Oakland. Her parents aren’t seeking a specific dollar amount in the suit, which was filed Wednesday.

The Sun Journal (https://bit.ly/29j1T4z ) reports the suit also names the driver of the Jeep involved in the crash and the mechanic who worked on the vehicle.

The wagon tipped over on a portion of the hayride that went downhill. About 20 others were hurt.

A grand jury issued manslaughter and other charges against the farm about a year ago.

Buldoc’s attorney didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
