ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - The shooting death of an Atlantic City man has been ruled a homicide in the second fatal shooting in the Back Maryland neighborhood of the seaside resort in less than a week.

Atlantic County prosecutors say city police officers found Nizine Williams when they responded to reports of shots fired on Magellan Avenue on Tuesday night. He was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.

The shooting happened a few blocks from where said 37-year-old city resident Shavonne McKee was killed Sunday evening.

It wasn’t clear if the shootings were connected and motives have not been disclosed for either shooting.

City police and the county’s major crimes unit are investigating.
