SOMERS POINT, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have identified a father and son from New York as the victims of a deadly personal watercraft crash in the waters of southern New Jersey.

State police say 43-year-old James Hamilton and his 10-year-old son, Connor, were pronounced dead Saturday afternoon after the watercraft they were riding on in Patcong Creek in Somers Point collided with another one as they rounded a sharp curve.

Investigators say James Hamilton was sitting behind his son at the time of the crash. The Horseheads, New York, residents were originally said to be from Maryland but authorities updated that information.

Police say the limited sight line at the location of the crash is being investigated as a contributing factor.

The other driver, a 55-year-old woman from Egg Harbor Township, suffered a wrist injury.
