ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Increased patrols and checkpoints over the holiday weekend netted dozens of arrests and citations in New Mexico.

New Mexico State Police say they arrested 32 people suspected of drunken driving and issued more than 3,000 citations between July 1 and July 4.

The 4th of July holiday weekend was particularly busy as travelers took to the road.

Police say they responded to four alcohol-related collisions and investigated two fatal crashes.

Police also say that 10 percent of the citations issued were for seatbelt violations.
