BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Hundreds of accordion players are squeezing into a Buffalo hotel for their annual convention.

The American Accordionists’ Association festival and competition begins Wednesday and runs through Sunday.

Organizers say the opening day events will include a meet-and-greet with some of the nation’s best accordion players, along with an evening of continuous accordion music.

Some of the workshops planned include developing a career as a professional accordion player and using the instrument in music therapy.

The nonprofit American Accordionists’ Association was formed in 1938 and has several thousand members.
