ST. LOUIS (AP) - A suburban St. Louis man has admitted in federal court that he provided the heroin that killed the nephew of St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/29uCojY ) reports that 25-year-old David Bollinger of St. Charles County pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of knowingly and intentionally distributing heroin.

The plea was related to the December 2014 death of Mitch Stenger. As part of the plea, prosecutors agreed not to ask for more than a 10-year prison sentence, though the judge is not bound by the agreement. Sentencing is Oct. 13.
