NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (AP) - A 36-year-old North Liberty man accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill a business associate and his family will face trial in the fall.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (https://icp-c.com/29rXTjy ) that documents filed Wednesday show Justin DeWitt pleaded not guilty to four count of attempted murder and four counts of solicitation to commit murder. His trial has been set for Oct. 4.

DeWitt was arrested last month after police say he gave an undercover state agent $1,000 as a down payment to have his business associate and the associate’s family killed.
