MILFORD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut State Police have arrested a second man in connection with the theft of a semi-automatic rifle and bulletproof vest from a trooper’s cruiser.

Leandre Crockett, of Hamden, was arrested Tuesday at New Haven Superior Court. The 18-year-old was being arraigned on unrelated charges.

Twenty-year-old Travis Ingram, of New Haven, was also arrested Tuesday. Both men are facing several weapons charges.

Authorities say they expect to arrest several people suspected of involvement in the March theft.

The cruiser was parked outside the trooper’s Milford home and was one of several vehicles in the area that were burglarized. Burglars broke into the cruiser’s trunk, where the AR-15 rifle was stored. The weapon was later recovered.

Both men are being held on $350,000 bond. It’s not immediately clear whether they have attorneys.
