NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) - A New Britain man has pleaded no contest to charges he intentionally struck a motorcyclist with his sport utility vehicle in East Lyme.

The Day reports (https://bit.ly/29vwYa7 ) that 50-year-old Christopher Hollaway entered the plea Monday in New London to third-degree assault and other charges.

The Niantic Fire Department member will receive three years of probation and won’t face prison time if he brings a $25,000 restitution payment to his sentencing on March 23.

Police say Hollaway intentionally bumped the rear of 55-year-old George Krawshuk Jr.’s motorcycle twice in June 2014. They say the bike fell over the second time, causing Krawshuk to bump his head.

Police say the Farmington man suffered a traumatic brain injury. He has filed a civil suit against Hollaway.
