BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - The CEO of Merit Health Biloxi will resign at the end of the month after accepting a position with a hospital system in Texas.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/29qctZ7) Health Management Associates, which manages the hospital, has begun the search for a new chief executive officer to replace Monte Bostwick.

The newspaper reports the job posting on the LinkedIn website said the applicant must have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree is “highly preferred.” Other qualifications are at least 15 years of experience in the health care field and expertise in a variety of areas.

Bostwick came to the hospital, then Biloxi Regional, in 2010 during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the congressional debate on health care.

Merit Health is the fourth hospital Bostwick has led.
