STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Mount Nittany Medical Center in central Pennsylvania and the union representing about 1,000 workers say tentative agreement has been reached on new three-year contract.

The Service Employees Union International tells the Centre Daily Times (https://bit.ly/29hNBk1 ) that the tentative deal was reached on Tuesday. Workers are to vote on the pact Thursday after hearing details.

The previous three-year contract expired last week.

The hospital is the only one in Centre County and employs about 2,400 people.

The union went on strike for five days in 2004. Under federal law, it would have to give managers 10 days’ notice of a work stoppage.
