SALEM, N.H. (AP) - Police say a 19-year-old New Hampshire man wanted on a probation violation fled police and drove his pickup truck toward officers before leading them on a chase into Massachusetts, where he was arrested.

Police arrived at a hotel in Salem, New Hampshire, on Tuesday to serve a warrant on Jeremiah Remy, of Atkinson. They said Remy went out the back and got into his truck. As police approached him he accelerated; they said they had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck.

Police said Remy led officers on a chase through several towns in both states before he was arrested in Lowell, Massachusetts, on motor vehicle charges. He was being arraigned in Lawrence District Court on Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.
