JACKSON, Mich. (AP) - Plans are moving forward on a project to link two trail systems in southern Michigan.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports (https://bit.ly/29hJeFI ) the Spicer Group working on the effort to create a half-mile boardwalk connector trail to connect 2.5 miles of trails at the Cascades to the Inter-City/Falling Waters Trail that spans nearly 11 miles in Jackson County.

The trail will go from Kibby Road to the Inter-City Trail and traverses mainly wetland area. Roughly $267,000 is budgeted for design and construction. Plans call for the boardwalk to be built next spring, with the connector trail being completed by the end of June.
