MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - The son of a retired Manchester police detective has been charged with attempted murder after police allege he fired a shotgun at a minor.

WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/29nrGcG ) reports that 19-year-old Logan Howe was arraigned Tuesday in Manchester.

The charge stems from an incident in March. Investigators say Howe fired the gun toward the person from 34 feet away. They say Howe was angry because the victim assaulted his mother.

Authorities say the teenager dove to the side and wasn’t hit. His mother then called 911.

Logan’s father, Retired Detective Stacey Howe, declined to comment on the case.

Logan Howe is due back in court July 12. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney who can comment on the charge.
