GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Investigators are trying to determine how a prison inmate in Green Bay died.

State Corrections Department spokesman Tristan Cook said 34-year-old Green Bay Correctional Institution inmate Francisco Flores-Rocha died on July 4.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Department issued a news release Wednesday saying the agency was asked to investigate the death. The release offered no details of the circumstances surrounding Flores-Rocha’s death other than to say it doesn’t appear foul play was involved. Sheriff’s Lt. Jim Valley declined to offer any details when reached by phone, citing the pending investigation.

Online court records indicate a Kenosha County jury found Flores-Rocha guilty of attempted first-degree intentional homicide with a dangerous weapon in 2004. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 10 years on extended supervision.
