DALE, Ind. (AP) - Police say they believe a southern Indiana woman fatally shot her husband and then herself.

Indiana State police say the bodies of 74-year-old William Lamar and 68-year-old Martha Lamar were found in their home in Dale, about 55 miles northeast of Evansville, shortly before 11 p.m. Central time Tuesday night. The bodies were found by Spencer County sheriff’s deputies performing a wellness check.

State police say deputies found William Lamar deceased in the living room and Martha Lamar in the kitchen with a handgun lying next to her. Detectives believe they died about a week ago.
